I am trying to save energy by switching to alternative sources of energy. I have watched the video of Al Gore on the current state of our world today and it scares me. I have three children and I want them to grow up with resources available to them at all times. I can imagine the time when resources, especially energy, is not available anymore and this will be very hard.

That’s why I am trying to research and study about different alternative energy plans. I am planning to make one in my own house. I have looked at different nooks about wind turbine plans because the wind in my area is strong. So if you want to switch to alternative energy, all you need to do is research and study about it.

The process of sealing openings such as doors, windows, and trunks from the elements is called weatherstripping. The goal is to prevent rain and water from entering by either totally blocking it or by blocking the majority of it and returning or rerouting it. A secondary goal of weatherstripping is to keep inside air in. This saves in heating and cooling costs. You can use weatherstripping in your home to seal air leaks around movable joints.

You must detect where the air leaks are and determine you ventilation needs before applying weatherstripping. Then you have to choose a type of weatherstripping that will take the friction, weather, temperature changes, and wear and tear associated with where it will be applied. Choose a product for each specific location. More than one type of weatherstripping can be used to seal an irregularly shaped space. Also take durability into account when comparing costs.

On top of the money that you can save, you will also have additional knowledge on how the solar panel works. This will promote more awareness on how to save Mother Nature.

Thoughts about the Future of Renewable Energy

This is a topic that has been talked about often: renewable energy. We get it from the sun, the wind and from growing plants. It is said that the energy produced by the sun in one day is enough to supply our needs for a year. If only we have the resources to take advantage of all of sun’s blessings. Maybe, in due time, technology will catch up and be able to take advantage of solar energy at a reasonable cost.

The same is true of wind power. Think of all the locations on earth that have all the necessary requirements needed to gather wind energy. Again, we hope that time will come that it will be practical to put up wind generators in every community so that we can avail of cheap or even free energy. This may sound like unattainable dreams. I say, it is not. It may not happen in our lifetime but I am sure that it will come to pass.
