There are easy, inexpensive Green cleaning solutions for putting a sparkle back in your bathroom. Let’s take a look at the eco-friendly side of bathroom cleaning.
My primary rules of thumb to clean your bathroom

  1. Give your product time to work
  2. Prevention; prevention; prevention!
A few simple changes in the bathroom will save your hours of work each month.
Cleaning soap scum from showers and bathtubs is one of the most difficult problems to solve. Eliminate the problems by switching soap. The animal fat and talc in bar soap causes the buildup. Switch to organic liquid or a glycerin soap to avoid the problem altogether.

  • To remove heavy soap scum buildup, use Terra Plus full strength and apply it with a light cloth. Wait 4 to 5 minutes then scrub gently with Our White Scrubbie Pad dampened with water. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with water when you finish. For weekly maintenance, dilute CleanEz one half ounce per quart spray bottle.

  • Squeegee your shower and glass shower doors after showering to avoid water spot damage. Our  quickly and efficiently removes hard water spots from shower doors.
  • When you finish cleaning the shower spray our Advantage onto a cloth and wipe down the showers and glass shower doors. The polymers in Advantage that protect your car from UV ray damage make a surface slick. The water sheets down carrying soap residue with it. Advantage will not stop soap residue from building completely but will help scurry it down the drain. See Frequently Asked Questions below to put Advantage to work in your toilet!

Green clean Bathroom mirrors by using our Benya. Benya removes films and will not streak windows or mirrors. You will love how your mirrors stay free of steam when they are Benya clean. Benya is so environmentally safe that it is one of few products safe to use on granite and marble surfaces.

Remove Mold and Mildew: To reduce mold and mildew buildup problems in your bathroom, take a shorter, cooler shower. Keep a window or door cracked open if possible.

  • Remove mold on walls and ceilings by spraying them with CleanEz in a dilution of 5 parts water to 1 part CleanEz. Alternately use full strength food grade distilled white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.
  • Spray the mold, wait 15 minutes and spray once more. Then wait an hour, if the mold is not diminishing you may need to spray a third time or perhaps find a stronger solution that the 3% found in grocery or drug stores. Some health food stores a 20% peroxide. It will be more expensive but you only need 1 cup per quart of water, which should treat the entire area.

  • Moldy shower and tub caulking: Mold does develop behind caulking in the shower. Remove the caulking then clean the surface thoroughly with CleanEz. Spray a second time with the CleanEz an hour later. Allow to dry and apply new caulking.

Clogged Drains:

Here is a fast and environmentally friendly way to prevent clogged drains. Pour one-half cup of Natures Miracle, found in pet stores, down the drains once a month. Nature’s Miracle is an enzyme and product that is 100% green and safe for city sewer systems, septic systems, holding tanks and the environment. It does an excellent job removing pet and food stains and odors from furniture, carpet and clothing. Safely with no toxic after affects. The enzymes literally “eat” any bacteria found in your drains preventing the clogs.
Vacation time:

When you leave home for any amount of time, pour one cup of distilled white vinegar into your toilets. Then place a piece of saran wrap over the bowl – not the seat that lifts but the bowl itself. This prevents the water from evaporating and hard water marks from forming. Be sure to put a note on your toilet to remove the saran wrap when you return home :-) .
Hair spray:

Remove hair spray buildup from mirrors and counter tops with straight rubbing alcohol. Coat both surfaces with Advantage to make this job faster and easier. Do not use Advantage on arble or granite surfaces. It is safe for Corian protecting it against stains.
Enamel fixtures: Most enamel fixtures will come back to life if rubbed with a freshly cut lemon. A paste of borax and lemon makes an excellent cleaner for enamel or brushed steel fixtures. Do not use on brass or gold plated faucets.
