As a science teacher, I would want my students to understand the science of gardening. This way, they would be able to comprehend not only the process of growth of living things, but to also gain better appreciation about how the produce they would easily take from grocery aisles would take labor and effort. Getting them to appreciate the hard work of gardening is a way for me to instill in them proper values at the same time. I have then decided to get them into planting various crops for the entire semester.

They are free to do whatever they wish and plant what they want, and would be graded as to the turnout and production of the particular crop they have chosen. They may only make use of natural fertilizers and organic soil additives to better appreciate the process. It was quite a learning experience for them to understand how painstakingly difficult it is to go about farming. I consider the project a success as I have instilled in them learning and values along the way.

Whenever we drink tea, we always get a lot of benefits and nutrients from it. They contain antioxidants and even slimming properties, they aid us in our digestion and some keep us active and awake with varieties containing caffeine. The same goes for our plants. Compost tea comes from the extract of the compost we prepare from a spinning composter. They have a lot of added benefits which plants can take advantage of, other than the compost itself.

When we use a spinning composter, they often have a base which collects compost tea. This allows the gardener to increase beneficial organisms vital for overall health of plants. They can also be sprayed in order to supress foliar diseases. These fluids provide numerous advantages for our garden. This way, both humans and their plants can enjoy the benefits from the tea they drink. Soil health is always a must for a great looking garden at all times.

I need to maintain a gluten-free diet because of my allergies. This is why I am not usually able to eat wherever I please just like some people would enjoy their meals for any particular restaurant they feel like eating in. I would need to prepare meals or snacks I would munch on while I am at work, as I need to make sure of the things I consume on a daily basis. It was either take the effort to prepare my meals, or risk being in the emergency room all the time.

There are various online suppliers which offer natural gluten free foods. This allows me to have my regular supply of foods that would help me sustain a healthy and safe diet. It is also helpful that I can easily browse the internet for some recipes and alternatives from the usual food that others enjoy. This way I would not miss out on some food that seems to be too delicious to resist. Following an all-natural diet is a must; it was either that or risk my life.

These days, more and more people have been contributing and making the shift to become more environment conscious. There are many simple ways by which a person can make a difference in this world and to help minimize the waste materials produced on a daily basis. We are now starting to feel the effects of the destruction and damage we are doing to Mother Nature, which is why everyone must start acting now. Otherwise, the future generations to come will surely be suffering the effects of these actions.

One simple way of lessening the effects of the waste materials we produce is by using a grocery tote bag when shopping. Since most shops would make use of plastic bags for those who purchase items in their establishment, one can use these bags to help minimize the use of non-biodegradable materials. Going for eco-friendly materials is much better and would greatly help in making the world a much better place to live in. If everyone does their part in doing this simple act, imagine the effects and the minimized numbers of these waste materials harmful to the environment.

How LED Lights Work

LED as a light source came into the picture fairly recently. They are small in size and yet we see them almost everywhere. They are used in applications as diverse as in aviation or automotive lighting, in remote control units, Christmas lights and in LED plant lights. When you turn off the major lights at night and all that is left are pilot lights, they look like a string of Christmas lights glowing in the dark from various appliances. I for one don’t bother to turn them off anymore, knowing that they do not consume that much energy.

It does make you wonder how these tiny light emitting objects can produce such bright lights. Without getting too technical, it is the result of the interaction between electrons and holes in a semi conductor that has the interesting side effect of generating light. We don’t have to know how it works; we just need to realize that the process results in advantages over the conventional incandescent lamp. Because there is no filament that will burn out, they last longer. Their size is also an advantage; they are able to fit easily in modern mini devices.

In the sales industry, it is important for me to always be accessible not only to my clients but also to my immediate superiors. As a sales executive I am always on the go and I would often need to travel frequently to close the deal. With the quota the company has given me, I need to reach my target on a monthly basis to earn as much commission as I can for my family. It is a tough job, but it is a great career with great benefits.

When I am on official business, I would always need my mobile phones with me so people can easily contact me should they need anything. I would always have one of those solar phone chargers in my bag, car and office cabinet so I can be sure that I am always available whenever clients need to contact me. This is a handy piece of device that never fails me. In this line of work, constant communication is a must. Being available at all times help me close that deal.

Favorite Healthy Snack

There was a time when I only ate chips and sweets for my snacks. They were the only food that can satisfy me back then. My friends have warned me about the bad effects of this but I never really listened to them. Last year, I had a mild stroke and that was the only time when all of their warnings sank in.

So from then on, I always watch what I eat and I exercise regularly. Back then, I can sit in front of the TV the whole day and I just go up to get food. But now, I wake up early in the morning to jog. I even eat organic dried fruit and nuts for my snack. It’s my favorite healthy snack because it’s yummy.

Garden Party

A few weeks back I have hosted a wonderful garden for my family and friends. It was my husband’s birthday, and I needed to get some special people important in our lives to celebrate with us. Since it was just a little over a month since we moved to our new home, I knew doing it inside was not an option. Especially since we invited a lot of people for this special occasion we would need to divert the guests to our backyard.

As part of the decorations, I got some solar garden stake lights that would provide some lighting in the backyard. Since the party was to start off at around 6, it would be likely that the party will extend until the wee hours at night. It worked perfectly and provided a cozy and intimate ambiance, much to the delight of our guests. With no more worries on the decoration and the lights, I merely focused on the food and drinks to be served to the party.
