We are all on the road to preserving the earth. We are all one in making a change to save our world. It is us that have caused all the damage to our only home and now the consequences are getting more apparent. The atmosphere is filled with waste gases that had affected the ozone layer. Our water has been contaminated by chemical waste from factories.
What we do not realize is that we too are contributing to the earth’s chemical waste. With all the chemicals we use to clean our households, more and more chemicals are seeping into the earth. It is time to use less of these potentially harmful substances. Norwex cloths can help minimize the use of cleaning agents. Some people don’t even use cleaners when using these cloths.
LED lights are also called intelligent lights. They can imitate day and night by turning on and shutting off at the right time. These light emitting diodes use less power, produce less heat and are not as noisy as the ballasts of traditional fluorescent lights. They are solid state devices with no filaments or glass to break. Unlike other lighting processes, the absence of filament avoids wasted energy needed to heat the filament before it can produce light.
LED lights are designed to emit a specific wavelength of light. A LED light will never fade. LED lights are available in a wide range of colors. They do not rely on colored filters or gels to produce a specific color which could fade over time. LEDs are low maintenance devices that have been proven to work efficiently for as much as 50,000 to 100,000 hours. That’s 5 to 11 years of service.
We all have to do our part in saving the planet. We see this message almost everywhere we look. In my part of the world, we are encouraged to save on electricity. My neighbor who is steel reeling from her enormous electric bill has turned to solar power to light her garden. She has solar lamps and solar figurines in her elaborately landscaped garden.
I have heard of solar lights, solar panels and solar powered heaters but I’ve never seen solar figurines. I soon learned that you can find solar figurines that look just like regular figurines. In my neighbor’s garden for instance, she had solar gnomes which are common in gardens. There are solar powered angel figurines and dog figurines. These figurines are cool, they can light up a garden during a party. kids would surely get a kick out of them.
The earth wasn’t like this a few decades ago. Ask the seniors and they will tell you how beautiful the world was in the not so distant past. People breathed in fresh air. The bodies of water were all safe to swim in. Crops had lesser chemicals to prolong its shelf life. The earth used to be more livable than it is today.
Comparing the earth now to the way it was before as our seniors have told us about can be quite depressing the new generation. They didn’t have the chance to see a world that is cleaner and greener. The good news is, people can still do something to save it. They can save energy by turning off and unplugging the lights and appliances in the house that are not being used. This will lessen the waste emission by power plants. People can also walk instead of driving to a destination if it is just nearby. These are just small changes that can spell a big difference the only home that humankind has.
Is it just a dream to become your own energy supplier? Maybe you should start calling yourself ‘Me and Mine Utility Company’ because you can start setting up your own solar panel. Solar panels make possible the production of free electricity from the sun. They can be mounted on your roof or in locations where they can catch the most benefit from the sun. You can also have your own portable solar panel that can be useful in many ways.
Portable solar panels are versatile. They can be very useful when you go camping as they will be able to provide you with energy for your heating, lighting and cooking requirements. Why, it can even make your cell phones and laptop computers operational when traditional power is not available. They are so convenient to carry around. There are models that you can fold or roll and stick in your luggage or handbag.
