Yesterday, when I was watching the 5 o’clock news, I came across a story that impacted my way of thinking. The segment was on solar energy and the lesson was about how to build a solar panel. It’s a concept that’s evaded my mind for years, but now I’m willing to learn and do my part to help.

I immediately called my friend Judy, who volunteers at the local nature preserve, to tell her the exciting news. For years she has tried to talk me in to integrating simple ways to be green into my daily routine, but now I think I’m ready.
