A mobile home is a manufactured home which can be transported via tractor-trailer. It is also referred to as a “trailer”, a “mini home”, or a “caravan” in Europe. Park model trailers, or park model homes, although considered a recreational vehicle are transportable and typically designed for long term or permanent placement at a destination where an RV or mobile home is allowed. Once set up, park models are connected to the utilities that are necessary to operate home style appliances and fixtures.

Mobile homes are commonly found in campsites or mobile home parks. As mobile homes continued to undergo various cosmetic changes and upgrades, the “modular home” was introduced. A modular home is typically hauled in two separate pieces on flatbed trucks. Once the pieces arrive at their destination, they are then assembled into a modular home on a concrete foundation using a crane. Unlike a traditional mobile home, a modular home may have two or even three stories.

Fertilizer adds nutrients and texture to the soil in order to support trees, vegetables, herbs, shrubs, flowers, and other kinds of plants. The best plant growth fertilizer will depend on whether your soil is acidic, alkaline, sandy, clay, rocky, weak, or rich. Fertilizer can be divided into organic or chemical types, those that help fruit versus leaves, and those that feed particular plants or help improve the overall quality of the soil.

The two different types of fertilizer are organic and inorganic. Examples of inorganic fertilizer are chemical additives such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. These nutrients should naturally occur in healthy soil, but some plants require more of them. Organic fertilizer, like bat guano, compost, peat, moss, wood ash, and manure are considered general soil amendments that do not burn or harm plants, and have long term positive effects on the soil without damaging ground water.

First, you have to choose organic lawn fertilizers that are made for the type of grass growing on the lawn. The label should list down the names of grass species on which it can be used. It should also give instructions on how often it should be applied. Slow release fertilizers are sometimes used. These kinds of fertilizers deliver a consistent supply of nutrients during the grass’ fastest growth times.

The Cons of Bamboo Batting

The idea of bamboo quilt batting seems quite appealing. It is easy enough to plant bamboo, leave it alone, harvest it and produce fabric or batting from its fibers. Seems like a win-win situation. But not everybody is happy. Quilters find bamboo quilt batting expensive. Aside from that it is also difficult to source.

Environmentalists are questioning the process used to transform bamboo reeds into fabric. The problem is in the use of chemicals in the production process. It is a labor intensive process that requires the reeds to be mashed up and cooked in solvents. Manufacturers of bamboo textiles use sodium hydroxide to turn bamboo into fiber that can be woven. Until this is resolved, quilt makers might do well to stick it out with cotton. It is just as breathable and drapes well. Quilts made with cotton batting soften with age, washing and use.
