Lunch bags are very handy for packing sack lunches to take along to school or work. Most people have probably used those good old brown paper lunch bags at some point in their life. Lunch bags have come a long way, and while the good old brown paper bag still works great, canvas lunch bags have now taken over. Canvas lunch bags are often made of cotton, and can be used over and over again. You can even choose canvas bags that are made from organic cotton.

Just like reusable shopping bags, canvas lunch bags are a good way to reduce paper and plastic consumption. Most canvas lunch bags tie closed or close with Velcro, and usually feature handles for easy carrying. They are generally machine washable and drip dry in no time at all. You will not only avoid using lots of paper and plastic bags, but you will save money over time because you will not run out of lunch bags and have to purchase more. Canvas lunch bags are very durable and can be conveniently folded up after use.

Earth Friendly

As an environment advocate, I am particularly conscious on the products I use and my actions that would contribute to further damage of the world in which we live in. This is something that should be taken seriously, and if more people are to push for the campaign then we could at least minimize the destruction happening around us. As humans we are primarily responsible for the effects of the destruction we have caused, and now we are slowly experiencing the effects of the actions our forefathers have done in the past.

That is why I make it a point to only use products that are earth-friendly. For my parties for example, it doesn’t only entail having fun. I can only take on the responsibility and make use of Karat Earth disposable cups to serve drinks to my guests. These decisions may appear little and not too significant, but when put together can definitely go a long way. I know it is going to be a long haul before we can get everyone to be more careful about their actions, but it has got to start somewhere and I should do my part.

Assigned Chores

Living in our very own apartment with two of my best friends since childhood is one of the greatest things one could ever have. After graduating from college, we have officially moved out of our parents’ hair and lived independently in the city after landing jobs in the firms we have been eyeing. This is truly a dream come true, especially since I can get to enjoy my life as a career person with people who I absolutely love and shared my life with ever since.

In our apartment, we have our assigned chores that get rotated every week. One of these chores includes having to clean the bathroom, which I absolutely hate. But you have no choice but to get the job done. When it is my turn, I make sure that I use an organic bathroom cleaner. Not only does it work great in cleaning those spots, but I can be assured that I don’t inhale those harmful chemicals contained in some cleansers. At least I know that they are natural and wouldn’t hurt the environment too, once they go down the drain. Another two weeks before it’s my time to clean once again.

Human beings will not survive without water. Water is an essential element to us beings, and the lack of water will lead to dehydration, which eventually leads to death. That is why we’re better off without food and be able to survive a few weeks, rather than be deprived from water which is much more fatal. Our bodies are mostly made up of this important element, so when we sweat and expend energy it is vital to drink fluids in order to replace what has been lost.

We all know that water is important, but sometimes getting regular supplies of it can be hard for some places. That is why there are those with solar water pumps in order to maintain the continuous supply of water. This is the preferred choice of those who are environment advocates since it is more economical and do not require internal combustion engines. So water up and get refreshed all day.

A hand sanitizer is a supplement or alternative to hand washing with soap and water. Various preparations are currently available, including gel, foam, and liquid solutions. There are also several different types of organic hand sanitizers available containing an antimicrobial as well as a moisturizing ingredient. These ingredients may or may not include alcohol, and are available in various forms such as spritzers, gels, or wipes. You can even make your own natural hand sanitizer.

There are plenty of natural, and even organic oils that contain antimicrobial properties. These oils are highly essential in a good natural hand sanitizer. Some popular examples of these oils that are considered antimicrobials include thyme oil, lemon oil, orange oil, and lavender oil. When these oils, either individually or in combination, are mixed with other ingredients such as water or aloe vera, they are believed to kill many types of germs that cause illness.

Yoga is one of the few fitness regimens that do a lot of wonders for me and my well-being. I have always been on the lookout for exercises and routines so I can easily switch from one routine to another without ever having to worry about burnout and giving up on exercising in its entirety. Yoga is the only thing I keep in my exercise habit, as it keeps me at bay with tuning out to myself and the world before me.

I have found peace within myself through yoga. My love for this practice started out when my friend had asked me to accompany her in one of the new studios in town, using a gift certificate from one of her editors. I tried it, and I was instantly hooked. Shopped for organic yoga clothing and a few other accessories and I am off to a full time class. Nowadays, it has been my Monday, Wednesday and Friday routine. It has ever since left me breathless with its complex poses and sweat-bustline movements.

What is the Green Bin Program?

Green Bin is a program that allows residents who do not wish to make compost themselves to receive waste collection services for their food scraps. These are collected in a community in the same way as other garbage. They are deposited in special green bin composter containers. The materials are transferred to a processing station that has licensed composting facilities. The program helps in significantly reducing materials that go to the landfill.

The Green Bin program is specific about products that can be disposed of in the green bin container. This will include food products such as fruits and vegetables, meat and fish products including bones and shells. Paper products can also be included such as paper towels, wrappers that are soiled with food, paper plates and similar products. Items that are not compostable or may contain composite synthetic materials are not accepted. Examples are ashes and candles, carpets and rugs, cigarette butts, and clothing material specially leather and textiles.

Never before are we more concerned about the state of our environment. We are starting to really feel the need for reform; otherwise it is goodbye beloved Mother Earth. We can each do our share. I feel that mothers who run households and are part of making decisions in the home have the most responsibility. They can contribute a lot to the cause of greening the environment.

I am happy that there are now disposable plastic bags that are biodegradable. I hope there will be more of these in the near future and that they be available at competitive prices. I am concerned about the environment and I am willing to do my share but I find it difficult. It is impossible to do away with plastic bags. You go to markets and groceries and that is all that they have. Maybe these biodegradable environmentally friendly bags are the solution.

Natural Bedding

Organic baby bedding are products made for children that are manufactured without the use of synthetic pesticides, dyes, or other potentially harmful chemicals. Some examples of organic baby bedding may include mattress pads, organic cotton crib sheets, bumpers, and blankets. Organic linens are becoming more widely available in response to an ever-growing market for green, or environmentally-friendly products.

Organic crib bedding is usually made from natural fibers, like organic cotton, bamboo cotton, or wool. Aside from being hypoallergenic, most organic fabrics are widely believed to be more durable than conventional ones. Furthermore, because cotton farming accounts for a significant percentage of synthetic pesticide usage, manufacturers as well as consumers all over the world are increasingly shifting to organic cotton products. Items such as bedding, must meet certain standards to be identified as organic. Most countries have their own requirements for certifying organic goods.
