Why Use LED as Light Source?

LED lights are also called intelligent lights. They can imitate day and night by turning on and shutting off at the right time. These light emitting diodes use less power, produce less heat and are not as noisy as the ballasts of traditional fluorescent lights. They are solid state devices with no filaments or glass to break. Unlike other lighting processes, the absence of filament avoids wasted energy needed to heat the filament before it can produce light.

LED lights are designed to emit a specific wavelength of light. A LED light will never fade. LED lights are available in a wide range of colors. They do not rely on colored filters or gels to produce a specific color which could fade over time. LEDs are low maintenance devices that have been proven to work efficiently for as much as 50,000 to 100,000 hours. That’s 5 to 11 years of service.

We all have to do our part in saving the planet. We see this message almost everywhere we look. In my part of the world, we are encouraged to save on electricity. My neighbor who is steel reeling from her enormous electric bill has turned to solar power to light her garden. She has solar lamps and solar figurines in her elaborately landscaped garden.

I have heard of solar lights, solar panels and solar powered heaters but I’ve never seen solar figurines. I soon learned that you can find solar figurines that look just like regular figurines. In my neighbor’s garden for instance, she had solar gnomes which are common in gardens. There are solar powered angel figurines and dog figurines. These figurines are cool, they can light up a garden during a party. kids would surely get a kick out of them.

The earth wasn’t like this a few decades ago. Ask the seniors and they will tell you how beautiful the world was in the not so distant past. People breathed in fresh air. The bodies of water were all safe to swim in. Crops had lesser chemicals to prolong its shelf life. The earth used to be more livable than it is today.

Comparing the earth now to the way it was before as our seniors have told us about can be quite depressing the new generation. They didn’t have the chance to see a world that is cleaner and greener. The good news is, people can still do something to save it. They can save energy by turning off and unplugging the lights and appliances in the house that are not being used. This will lessen the waste emission by power plants. People can also walk instead of driving to a destination if it is just nearby. These are just small changes that can spell a big difference the only home that humankind has.

The process of sealing openings such as doors, windows, and trunks from the elements is called weatherstripping. The goal is to prevent rain and water from entering by either totally blocking it or by blocking the majority of it and returning or rerouting it. A secondary goal of weatherstripping is to keep inside air in. This saves in heating and cooling costs. You can use weatherstripping in your home to seal air leaks around movable joints.

You must detect where the air leaks are and determine you ventilation needs before applying weatherstripping. Then you have to choose a type of weatherstripping that will take the friction, weather, temperature changes, and wear and tear associated with where it will be applied. Choose a product for each specific location. More than one type of weatherstripping can be used to seal an irregularly shaped space. Also take durability into account when comparing costs.

Why Go Natural?

The advantage of natural cures is that it provides an environment in the body that is conducive to maintaining good health. Unlike man-made chemicals, products that offer natural cures interact with the body in a nurturing way. The body has its own healing process. It knows and craves for the essential vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, amino acids and all the nutrients it positively requires to perform on a minute to minute basis. The body will welcome natural cures and reject man-made chemicals.

The claims of products with natural cures are numerous. It is becoming obvious that natural cures are great and effective alternative to traditional health products when it comes to maintaining a healthy body and mind. If that were so, there seems to be a need for a more strict regulation of products that promises natural cures. It seems that they are so easy to come by and yet there are very little studies to prove their claims.
